Recently, according to foreign media reports, Magna announced that it will build a new plant in St. Clair, Michigan, the United States. The plant has now broken ground. After the construction is completed, it will produce battery shells for the upcoming Hummer EV. Magna plans to invest US$70 million in a 345,000-square-foot factory and hire more than 300 employees in the next five years. Magna is currently recruiting various positions in the local area, including managers, engineers, and operators. The new plant will start production in early 2022. Magna may provide battery boxes for various electric vehicles equipped with Ultium batteries. John Farrell, President of Cosma International, Magna's body and chassis business unit, said: The introduction of new battery housing technology to the market is another example of Magna's ability to provide automakers with full system solutions and demonstrate How do we use our core strengths to continue to bring innovative solutions to our customers and help them achieve their goals.
