The project plans to invest 2.2 billion yuan. Yichun Ganfeng will build a high specific energy solid-state battery ultra-thin lithium anode material project in phases in Yichun Jinkaisheng, and build new metal lithium molten salt electrolysis, metal lithium low-temperature vacuum distillation purification, ultra-thin lithium belt, aluminum lithium Alloy, lithium-boron alloy and other production lines. As the world's largest metal lithium producer, Ganfeng Lithium has an urgent need for production expansion. According to its 2020 annual report, Ganfeng Lithium had an effective production of 1,600 tons of lithium metal last year, and the production utilization rate was as high as 98.58%, which is almost saturated. Since 2021, the price of product raw materials has continued to rise, and Ganfeng Lithium has decided to increase the unit price of the full range of metal lithium products by 15% from March 10th. It is worth mentioning that the “high specific energy solid-state battery ultra-thin lithium anode material project” in this investment project of Ganfeng Lithium Industry is quite eye-catching. Zhejiang Ganfeng, a subsidiary of Ganfeng Lithium Industry, focuses on the research and development of high-energy density and high-safety solid-state lithium-ion batteries. In 2019, it has invested in the establishment of a first-generation solid-state lithium-ion battery research and development pilot production line with an annual output of 100 million watt-hours. The first generation of mixed cobalt industry electrolyte battery products have passed the third-party safety test and sent samples to many customers for testing. The second-generation solid-state battery is based on high nickel ternary anode and metal-containing lithium anode material. At present, the energy density of the product exceeds 350Wh/kg, and the cycle life is close to 400 times. The solid-state batteries of lithium metal negative electrodes with an energy density of more than 420Wh/kg have been applied in special fields. Ganfeng Lithium has deployed consumer batteries, TWS batteries, power/energy storage batteries, and solid-state batteries. In the field of power/energy storage batteries, the output of Ganfeng's 600 million watt-hour high-capacity lithium-ion power lithium battery project has rapidly increased. By the end of 2020, the output of Ganfeng's lithium iron phosphate lithium-ion battery has reached 1GWh, and plans to expand production to 3GWh. At the beginning of March this year, Ganfeng Lithium announced that it would supply LFP batteries of no less than 1GWh per year to Kexin Technology. The two parties will cooperate in resource regeneration projects such as new energy batteries, communication base station energy storage, data center energy storage and battery recycling. In the field of consumer batteries, in 2020, it will complete the capital increase and share expansion of Ganfeng Lithium. Huizhou Ganfeng, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ganfeng Lithium, plans to invest no more than 3 billion in the construction of high-end polymer lithium-ion battery Ru0026D and production construction bases. In the field of TWS batteries, as of the end of 2020, its fully automated production line of TWS batteries has reached a daily output of 300,000 units. In addition, Ganfeng Lithium is opening up the upstream and downstream industrial chain. The current business runs through upstream lithium resource development, midstream lithium salt deep processing and metal lithium smelting, downstream lithium-ion battery manufacturing and comprehensive recycling and utilization of decommissioned lithium-ion batteries.
