On November 21, Tsingshan Industrial and Jiashan County, Zhejiang reached a contract for the Shanghai Lanjun 16Gwh lithium-ion battery project, and construction is expected to start by the end of the year. According to the agreement, Shanghai Lanjun intends to build a 16Gwh lithium-ion battery cell and module Ru0026D, production and sales base in Jiashan Economic Development Zone, and establish Lanjun New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. my country's regional headquarters and lithium-ion battery research institute , The total investment of the project is 5.5 billion yuan. Tsingshan Industrial is the world's largest stainless steel manufacturer and nickel metal producer, ranking 329 in the 2020 Fortune Global 500. Shanghai Lanjun is a new energy company established in July 2020, mainly engaged in the research and development and production of lithium-ion batteries for vehicles and energy storage. It is necessary to point out that before Shanghai Lanjun, Tsingshan Industrial invested 1.73 billion yuan to establish Ruipu Energy Co., Ltd. in 2017 to get involved in power lithium batteries. At present, Ruipu Energy has grown into a new supporting force in the field of power lithium batteries, ranking among the top ten power lithium battery installed capacity. According to GGII data, with the support of SAIC-GM-Wuling, Weimar, Yundu and other passenger car companies, Ruipu Energy’s installed capacity exceeded 100 MWh in July and September, and it entered the industry’s top 10 installed capacity twice, ranking No. 6 and 8. Ruipu Energy's layout in the field of energy storage has also begun to show results. At this stage, the company's energy storage products have been upgraded from 50Ah to 100Ah, which is in line with the needs of the 5G era and the high-end overseas energy storage market. Ruipu Energy's 100Ah product has passed the IEC certification and has become another explosive product created by the company. In terms of production planning, the second-phase power and energy storage lithium-ion battery and system project of Ruipu Energy's Wenzhou manufacturing base started in October. The planned total investment of the second phase of the project is 1.5 billion yuan, with an annual output of 8GWh. Planning to build 8 fully automated lithium-ion battery production lines, including 4 MEB and 4 VDA production lines, with a single-line output of 1GWh. The Shanghai Lanjun 16Gwh lithium-ion battery project was signed to land in Jiashan, which means that Tsingshan Industrial is expected to have one more talent in the field of power lithium batteries.
