Results/Results industry efforts focus on educating consumers about the dangers associated with lithium coin batteries, and educating the medical community about battery design functions, thus distinguishing between lithium batteries and actual currency pictures in radiography, so as to diagnose potential diseases more timely and accurately.
The industry works with equipment designers, equipment manufacturers and standard development organizations to support changes to battery box designs to reduce ease of use.
The industry supports efforts to assess potential design modifications that may reduce problems.
While the variety of devices on the market that rely on lithium coin batteries makes the battery redesign more challenging than in other areas, this modification is also being evaluated.
In order to strengthen the warning copy and evaluate the packaging options that limit the accessibility of lithium coin batteries, some changes have been made.
