High-energy lithium-ion battery industry has a promising future
According to the latest report from Japan’s Fuji Economic Research Institute, as new energy vehicles are sought after globally, especially hybrid vehicles and electric vehicles, the global lithium iron phosphate (high-energy lithium-ion battery) industry will expand rapidly in the next few years. The scale in 2014 will be more than 200 times larger than in 2008. At present, both the electric vehicle industry and the energy storage power station industry have been listed as strategic industries by the world's important industrial countries. Both new energy vehicles and energy storage power stations rely on batteries with safety, longevity and greater energy density. Compared with existing lead-acid batteries, high-energy lithium-ion batteries are not only more environmentally friendly and safer in materials, but also superior to common lead-acid batteries in the market in terms of capacity, volume, weight, service life, and high and low temperature performance. Generally, the number of cycles of charge and discharge of lead-acid batteries is about 200, while high-energy lithium-ion batteries can achieve more than 2,000 cycles of charge and discharge. Because the price is higher than that of ordinary lithium-ion batteries and lead-acid batteries, only some high-end cars currently support high-energy lithium-ion batteries. In addition to my country's policy support, in European and American countries, high-energy lithium-ion batteries as an emerging industry have also received government attention and support. For example, in Germany, the use of solar power generation systems in general households has become very common, but whether household power generation is for self-use or sold to the national grid, there are unavoidable energy storage problems. This requires every household to be equipped with an energy storage device, and currently in the German market, high-energy lithium-ion batteries are undoubtedly the most popular storage battery products. At the same time, with the country's policy promotion of the electric vehicle industry, the rise of new energy vehicles will surely provide a broad space for the development of high-energy lithium-ion batteries and lithium iron phosphate materials. Regarding the price issue of high-energy lithium-ion batteries, which people are generally concerned about, it is believed that with the development and improvement of the industry and the gradual maturity of the market, the price will become more commonplace.
