Methods review the data of battery damage and identify the various existing battery modes that reduce the risk.

The comparative potential release of current between battery/shell designs was measured using animal carcass tissue.
Results/results the existing battery design, depending on the power and surface contact area, continues to cause burns to animal carcass tissues of different severity.
Meaning/contribution to the field although there are still some problems to be solved in order to economically manufacture button batteries and/or shells that reduce the risk of electrical burns, this study shows that a viable solution to this problem is possible.
