56.9GWh of power battery installed in 2018

On January 14, the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance released data on the production, sales and installation of new energy vehicle batteries for December 2018 and the whole year. In terms of output, in December 2018, China’s power battery output totaled 8.0Gwh, a month-on-month decrease of 1.6%, of which ternary battery output was 4.9GWh, accounting for 60.4% of the total output, down 6.8% from the previous month; lithium iron phosphate battery output was 2.8GWh , Accounting for 34.3% of the total output, an increase of 2.2% from the previous month. In 2018, the cumulative output of power batteries in China reached 70.6GWh, of which the cumulative production of ternary batteries was 39.2GWh, accounting for 55.5% of the total output; the cumulative production of lithium iron phosphate batteries 28.0GWh, accounting for 39.7% of the total output; batteries with other materials accounted for 4.8%. In terms of sales volume, in December 2018, my country’s power battery sales totaled 7.5GWh, of which ternary batteries sold 4.9GWh, accounting for 64.8% of the total sales, about two-thirds of vehicle sales; lithium iron phosphate batteries sold 2.1GWh , Accounting for 28.3% of total sales. In 2018, the cumulative sales of power batteries in my country reached 62.3GWh, of which the cumulative sales of ternary batteries were 34.5GWh, accounting for 55.4% of total sales; the cumulative sales of lithium iron phosphate batteries were 24.4GWh, accounting for 39.1GWh of total sales. Ternary battery products have become the absolute main body of the market. From the perspective of vehicle installations, in 2018, my country’s power battery installations totaled 56.9GWh, a year-on-year increase of 56.3%. According to the battery materials, the annual installed capacity of ternary batteries and lithium iron phosphate batteries were 33.1GWh and 22,2GWh, respectively, accounting for 58.1% and 39% of the total installed vehicles; according to the supporting models, the whole year of 2018 New energy passenger vehicles and new energy commercial vehicle batteries have installed 33.1GWh and 23,8GWh respectively, and passenger vehicles have become the main part of the market. From the perspective of the level of loading concentration, in 2018, a total of 93 power battery companies in my country's power battery industry (calculated by group companies) have achieved loading and supporting facilities, which is 9 less than in 2017. For the whole year of 2018, the top three companies in my country's power battery industry installed a total of 38GWh, accounting for 66.8%; the top five companies have a total of 42GWh, accounting for 73.8%; the top ten companies have a total of 47.1GWh, Accounted for 82.8%.
