About External Short Test, Each test sample Cell, in turn, is to be short-circuited by connecting the positive and negative terminals of the Cell with a circuit load having a resistance load of 80±20mohm.The Cell is to discharge until a fire or explosion is obtained, or until it has reached a completely discharged state of less than 0.2volts and the Cell case temperature has returned to ±10°C(18°F) of ambient temperature , tests are to be conducted at 20±5°C(68±9°F) and at 55±5°C (131±9°F). About Charge, Charge Current: Charge current should be less than the maximum value specified in the Specifications. Charging with higher current than recommended value may cause damage to Cell’s electrical, mechanical and safety performance and could lead to heat generation or leakage. Charge Voltage: Charging shall be done by voltage less than that specified in the Specifications. Charging beyond 4.45V, which is the absolute maximum voltage, must be strictly prohibited. The charger and protection circuit of battery pack shall be designed to comply with this condition. It is very dangerous that charging with higher voltage than the maximum value and may cause damage to the Cell’s electrical, mechanical safety performance and could lead to heat generation or leakage. Charge Temperature: Cells shall be charged according to the Temperature Condition specified in the Specifications. Charging at subzero temperature shall be prohibited. Prohibition of Charge: It is prohibited to charge the Cells which are used for single with less than 1.0V voltage. It is prohibited to charge the Cells which are used for series with less than 1.5V voltage. Prohibition of Reverse Charge: Reverse charge is prohibited. Cells shall be connected correctly. The polarity has to be confirmed before wiring. If a Cell is connected improperly, the Cell cannot be charged. Simultaneously, the reverse charging may cause damage to the Cell which may lead to degradation of cell performance and damage the cell safety, and could cause heat generation or leakage.
