A related meeting held by the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Processes, Chinese Academy of Sciences revealed that the recently successfully developed high-energy density, high-performance all-solid-state lithium battery has just passed the 11,000-meter full-sea depth simulation pressure chamber cycle pressure test. It is understood that traditional liquid lithium batteries have potential safety hazards that are easy to leak and catch fire and explosion, while the comprehensive performance of ordinary solid-state lithium batteries cannot be taken into account. Relying on the Qingdao Energy Storage Industry Technology Research Institute's Ru0026D team, under the guidance of Academician Chen Liquan and Researcher Cui Guanglei, a series of all-solid polymer electrolytes with excellent comprehensive performance have been developed to solve the above-mentioned bottleneck problems.
The study found that the electrochemical window of the new all-solid electrolyte membrane can be as high as 4.6V, and the thermal stability temperature of the electrolyte can reach at least 200℃. When this electrolyte is used in all-solid-state lithium-ion batteries, it will pass 1000 After a long charge and discharge cycle, 92% of the capacity is still maintained. Even when researchers perform corner cut and nail penetration tests on this solid-state battery, it can still be charged and discharged normally.
The successful development of this all-solid polymer electrolyte with high thermal dimensional stability, excellent mechanical strength, wide electrochemical window and high room temperature ionic conductivity will enable lithium-ion battery electrolytes to be compatible with various shapes The appearance of electrode materials can be seamlessly combined, and it is expected to be applied to the manufacture of lithium power batteries for electric vehicles on a large scale. According to the scientific research personnel of the Institute of Energy, this kind of solid-state battery will not cause safety accidents such as fire and explosion even under extreme conditions of car collision and extrusion and high temperature.
Moreover, because this scientific research result has doubled the energy density of lithium batteries, the cruising range of electric vehicles is expected to increase to more than 450 kilometers, and the application prospects are extremely broad.
