Take this station as an example, the cost of the cascade batteries we purchased is 5.8% lower than that of lead-acid batteries with the same capacity, and The cascade battery has a longer service life, and the annual consumption cost is only 31.4% of the lead-acid battery.' At a base station site called 'Gasa Highway Management Office' in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, the maintenance manager of China Tower said, 'Xishuangbanna Electric Power Foundation The facilities are outdated, affected by the weather, and frequent power outages in the base stations have led to serious attenuation of lead-acid battery capacity and generally short cycle life. Our new base stations this year are equipped with cascade batteries.' At present, China Tower has 1.88 million site sites. If the base station consumes a new energy vehicle retired power battery, it can consume nearly 2 million retired power batteries of new energy vehicles in the future, greatly reducing the environmental and safety hazards that a large number of retired power batteries may bring. Since October 2015, under the guidance of the relevant departments of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance, China Tower has begun to explore the recovery and recycling of power batteries, and organized 9 provincial (city) branches and 10 manufacturers to construct 57 test sites, the test sites cover most areas of the country and the main base station types. After nearly two years of tracking, the test site is running well, and the data shows that the application of cascade batteries in the field of communication base stations has good feasibility. Based on the previous pilots, China Tower launched larger pilots in June 2017, successively in 12 provinces (municipalities) of Guangdong, Fujian, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Henan, Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Shandong, Tianjin, Shanxi, Sichuan, and Yunnan. More than 11,000 stations have carried out pilot projects to replace existing lead-acid batteries with cascade batteries. On January 4, 2018, China Tower was elected as the chairman unit of the Recycling Branch of the China Automobile Power Battery Industry Alliance; on March 2, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other seven ministries issued the 'Notice on Organizing and Carrying out Pilot Work on the Recycling of New Energy Vehicle Power Battery 》, organize the pilot work of power battery recycling, and strongly support China Tower to carry out the demonstration project construction of power battery cascade utilization. It is reported that starting from this year, China Tower has no longer purchased new lead-acid batteries, and gradually replaced them with cascade batteries. Experts believe that as the largest user in the power battery cascade utilization industry, China Tower has a long-term and stable demand for decommissioned power batteries, and has natural advantages in cascade battery monitoring and management, logistics systems, and maintenance guarantees.
