It plans to increase its annual output from the current 11,000 tons to 16,000 tons. Mitsubishi Chemical's decision to increase production capacity this time is mainly due to the sharp increase in market demand for pure electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles and hybrid vehicles at home and abroad in recent years. It is understood that at this stage in Japan, passenger cars, which account for about 25% of the market share, have already shown an electrification trend. It is expected that this market share will increase steadily in the future. Mitsubishi Chemical said that its lithium battery electrolyte has a high output power in a low-temperature environment; the addition of additives can also produce a control electrode, thereby improving the durability and safety of the battery. At present, the electrolyte produced by Mitsubishi Chemical is mainly used by electric vehicle manufacturers in Japan, the United States, Europe and other countries and regions in vehicle batteries. The investment funds of Mitsubishi Chemical will be used to expand the electrolyte production line, improve the efficiency of product delivery and transportation, and improve the electronic product testing procedures. In fact, Mitsubishi Chemical's ambitions in lithium battery electrolytes are not limited to Japan. According to previous foreign media reports, Mitsubishi Chemical plans to invest 10-15 billion yen (approximately RMB 620-930 million) to expand the production capacity of key materials for lithium-ion batteries by 2020. Regarding lithium battery electrolytes, Mitsubishi Chemical plans to increase the annual production capacity of its US plant in Memphis, Tennessee to 30,000 tons, three times the current production capacity; it is located in Stockton-on-Tees, United Kingdom (Stockton-on-Tees). ) The annual production capacity of the factory will also be increased to 20,000 tons, twice the current capacity; the annual production capacity of the electrolyte factory in Changshu City, China will also be increased to 20,000 tons.
