Friends who have known about new energy power batteries should all know about lead. Many domestic power battery manufacturers like to use lead-acid batteries because they can supply power to the starter to assist in the ignition of the engine and to supply power to the electrical equipment in the car, making a great contribution to the energy supply of the motor. In addition, lead also has a very strong anti-knock ability. Adding certain chemical elements can become tetraethyl lead, a common gasoline antiknock agent.

However, leaving aside the blasting ability of lead as a power battery, it is still an internationally recognized highly toxic heavy metal. If the human body is exposed to lead for a long time or swallows it, it will damage the human nervous system, cardiovascular system, skeletal system, reproductive system and immune system. It is no exaggeration to say that lead is harmful to human health.

In fact, tetraethyl lead is also very harmful to the human body, and it cannot directly contact human skin. Moreover, lead-acid batteries will also produce huge pollution in the production and recycling process, such as lead fumes and lead dust. If we don't handle it properly, it will cause huge damage to the surrounding ecology, and in serious cases, it will even destroy the vegetation regeneration capacity of a whole piece of land.

Long-term experiments have proved that lead, a heavy metal, is indeed not conducive to the healthy development of society. Since 1875, the United States has begun to phase out leaded gasoline, and other countries have followed suit. From January 1, 2000, China also completely stopped producing leaded gasoline for vehicles.

In recent years, major domestic automakers have gradually begun to phase out lead-acid batteries. As a leader in the new energy industry, BYD took the lead in replacing lead-acid batteries with lithium iron phosphate batteries at the launch of the DM-i Super Hybrid, making it the only product that has been completely lead-free. In fact, BYD’s lithium iron phosphate battery has been maturely used in the market for 5 years. The market inspection of more than 400,000 vehicles has absolutely guaranteed safety performance.

It is undeniable that BYD’s lead-free move has made a great contribution to domestic environmental protection. Moreover, the life span of BYD's 12V lithium iron phosphate battery can be the same as that of the vehicle, saving maintenance and use costs, and bringing great convenience to consumers.

More importantly, BYD's 12V lithium iron phosphate battery can also fully lead the traditional lead-acid battery in terms of product strength. It has a built-in battery management system (BMS), which can monitor the battery status in real time, and keep the battery in normal working condition by changing the charging and discharging efficiency. The high voltage of the power battery can be converted into 12V low voltage to supply low voltage electrical appliances to work, which solves the trouble of low voltage need to store electricity. In addition, it also has an automatic dormant power-saving system, which can actively enter the dormant state when the battery is low, and can view the dormant state and select the wake-up mode through the mobile phone APP, which completely avoids the power loss of long-term use.

It has to be said that BYD took the lead in becoming 'lead-free' and launched a lead-free 12V lithium iron phosphate battery, which has made considerable contributions to the social environment. It is foreseeable that lead-free is definitely a mainstream trend in the future, and we look forward to the emergence of more lead-free products like BYD's 12V lithium iron phosphate battery.
