At the time of the founding of the country, my country's natural oil resources had not yet been discovered, and the severe shortage of oil was a major bottleneck restricting the country's economic development. The Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has focused on the organization and development of research on the gas-synthesized liquid fuel and shale oil hydrogenation of artificial oil in my country. In 1953, on the recommendation of the Institute, the Liquid Fuel Research Committee jointly led by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Fuel Industry was established. One year later, the Chinese Academy of Sciences hosted a report on liquid fuel research. The Ministry of Fuel Industry, the State Petroleum Administration, the Petroleum Institute, and various factories and mines sent leaders, experts, and scientific personnel to participate. This lays an important foundation for efficient collaboration between scientific research and processing departments in the future. Until today, scientific research is not divorced from the needs of the company's processing and social development, and is still the culture advocated by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. To this end, Dalian Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences has established long-term cooperative relations with many domestic and foreign companies, and has incubated more than 30 high-tech companies. PetroChina, Sinopec, Yanchang Petroleum, Shenhua Group, BP and other companies have in-depth cooperation with the institute in various ways such as entrusted development and cooperative development. Through sharing intellectual property rights and other forms, they have opened up the transfer and transformation chain of scientific and technological achievements and realized methanol.
